So earlier this week, we moved out of our flat in Bath and into one in Warminster. So this weekend, we’re exploring our new surroundings.
We don’t have a car yet, so we hopped on the bus to Frome, about 20 minutes away.
Frome (rhymes with broom) is a really picturesque little market town over the border in Somerset.
We hopped off the bus and explored its cobbled streets, popping in and out of the plethora of independent shops.
Trust me, if you’re looking for a place to pick up a gift (I’m already looking forward to doing my Christmas shopping), then Frome is it.
After all that window shopping (and a soupçon of buying) we walked past this blackboard.
Stopped, read it, and went inside.
Since the sun was shining, we took a seat on the terrace, overlooking the river.
We took full advantage of the Mexican breakfast menu (which thankfully, is served until 3pm) and the fact that it was after midday.
Just kidding Mum – small town living hasn’t driven me to drink. Yet.
I had chorizo hash topped with a fried egg and a side of guacamole. Man it was tasty.
And Alex had scrambled egg on toast, with additional chorizo and black pudding. Because in Alex’s world, adding meat to things is always a good idea.
The food was fantastic and was nice to see a change from the usual cafe fare on offer. We loved our morning in Frome and we’ll certainly be heading back – probably next weekend when the monthly food market is on.
Because who doesn’t love a food market?
