Yesterday morning started with rain. Which wasn’t all bad, because it resulted in this…
Luckily, the rain cleared quickly, so we went for a walk on the beach to enjoy the sunrise.
We walked to the end of this pier, whilst dodging the crabs, who were running their morning errands.
When we got to the end, this happened.
Alex proposed! And I, of course, said yes.
We walked back to the flat and called our families, who were very excited (Katie).
Alex had the ring custom made from a jewellers in Bath. He did a pretty good job of choosing, I love it.
We decided to spend the day here.
Hanauma Bay is a nature preserve and a famous snorkelling spot. The cove was formed millions of years ago (thanks to volcanic activity) and has since become home to lots of coral, and lots of fish.
We found a shady spot, got settled, then quickly donned our snorkels and hit the water. It was pretty awesome, with lots of friendly fish to spy.
After a couple of hours of snorkelling, we headed home. Not before one last glance at this beautiful view.
Since we were celebrating, we headed to the Modern Hotel, where we watched the sun go down whilst sipping on some cocktails.
Once the sun had disappeared, we headed downstairs to the study bar (which is hidden behind a giant bookcase).
And had (you guessed it) more cocktails.
Next, we headed back upstairs to Morimoto’s, where we had dinner reservations.
Morimoto is a pretty famous chef, and his Japanese food has a fantastic reputation.
We started with some more drinks (we’re celebrating!) whilst I perused the menu.
Alex let me order (brave) and we ended up with a delightful array of food. Everything was delicious.
Pineapple tempura, served with iberico jamon and wasabi tzatsiki.
Wagyu beef carpaccio.
And a selection of sushi, including soft shell crab rolls, eel avocado rolls and tuna and octopus sushi. All incredible.
Definitely a day to remember (despite the cocktails!).
